Solve a problem now?
Late afternoon humdinger
Just before closing.
5 ‘til 5 P.M.,
Weekend about to begin;
Leave it for Monday.
Why am I still here?
Should have left right after lunch;
I woke up too late.

Beautiful little poem

Felt like that yesterday (today is a holiday–day before Canada Day–for us). Good stuff. 😛

Whatever happened to all that talk of having a four-day work day?

As amazing as that would’ve been, I believe I’d end up wanting that 5th day (cover more work load, more $$, and makes those occasional long weekends feel amazing)! 😀 I doubt such a structure would ever established, at least in Canada or the States.

There are some companies you know that have as a perk during the summer, half days on Friday s and I some cases, the whole Friday off.

That’s pretty sick. Especially if it’s limited to summer. I think it’d be pretty cool if the option was also offered for people who’ve done a certain number of years with the organization (i.e. 10 years with them, and you’re in your 30s or 40s or somethign). It’s like going from full time 5 days a week to 4 days a week to retirement.

Nice idea. Take it up to your future employer, if you ever decide to work for someone.

Great poem. I think you hit every button when it comes to the late afternoon “Friday in the office” situation! :-). Very well done!
Thanks for sharing.
