I didn’t read the non-fiction book, Although of Course You End Up Becoming Yourself, on which this movie is based, but The End of The Tour is an enjoyable film that stars Jason Segel as the legendary author David Foster Wallace and Jesse Eisenberg as journalist and fellow writer David Lipsky. The movie begins in 2008 with Lipsky receiving disturbing news about Wallace. I’m not sure how many of you are familiar with either or both of these writers, but I don’t want to spoil anything. So, let’s just say the news Lipsky receives has him thinking back to his experience interviewing Wallace 12 years previously.

Chili w/Shredded Beef & Spinach topped with Popcorn
Sometimes the winter chill can only be warmed by eating a hot bowl of chili. Here is a complete meal in one pot with lots of fiber, vegetables, protein, and grain. I find the best meat to use is shredded beef, which I had pressure cooked the day before making this meal. However, you can use ground beef, turkey, or chicken. Or, even make it vegetarian. Playing with Fire by Tess Gerritsen (a book review)
This is a bittersweet story about two violinists from two different time periods—contemporary and between pre-Nazi-occupied Italy and 1943. Their tales are told in every other section of the book. Professional violinist, Julia Ansdell—whose story is set in contemporary times—brings into her life a mysterious music composition she finds inserted in a music book she purchases in a small Italian antiques shop. Upon finishing a performance, she decides to shop for souvenirs and buys the book before flying back to the U.S., where she lives with her husband, Rob, and three-year-old daughter, Lily. Hello, World
Although I started blogging in late April 2015, I didn’t go through the Blogging 101 course, which I am taking now. This is my first assignment–to introduce myself. Please go to the About page to learn more about my blog.
As some of you may already know, my purpose is to hone my writing skills and eventually make you aware of my finished writing products. Time is a challenge for me though, so be patient. Thanks!
A New Day
The global apocalypse started at noon E.S.T., but no one knows for sure who initiated it. It doesn’t matter, the damage is done. Those unlucky enough to live another day have energy sufficient only to look for shelter, food, and loved ones. Many wail for their losses. Some mute from shock. Others eventually drift off to unconsciousness for lack of will to go on without their familiar conveniences.
The total death toll increases every second as the tally continues to rise each day. Chaos rules the majority. Order is obliterated from daily practice as the world is now as foreign and uninhabitable as the whole planet of Saturn. Many years will have to pass until the waters run clear from blood, gore, and residue from the bombings.
Nothing is pure or unscathed. No one from heaven or hell has come to rescue either the good or the evil. All surviving people are now finally equal but in a most unpleasant way. Their only legacy is another fresh day of suffering.
