Weary pretender
He dreams of high-heeled shoe wear,
Miniskirts and slips.
Render him female
A padded bra and panties,
Starters to mend her.

Love the last line. This is excellent stuff.

This is an amazing little poem. I love it. I’ve been sitting here–I don’t know how long– reading it. Over and over. Fast then slow. I love this. :-). This is what poetry is all about. Very good, Karina…just wonderful.
I love the repetition of the ‘en- er’ sounds: Mender, pretender, render, mend her. Beautiful use of language. The word render is just perfect. The last line is so full of compassion and I believe full of hope with the word “Starters.”
Thank you so much.
