No crowding allowed,
No parties, concerts, or games,
To flatten the curve.
Damned to inertia,
Waiting for life to happen,
Can’t do the limbo.
K. Pinella’s poems

Coronavirus . . .
How I despise thee,
For thy unpredictability,
Spreadability,
Longevity,
Mostly . . .
For causing economic instability
And excess mortality.

Thinking of meat pie,
Couldn’t decide how to make,
Tried to be healthy.
Topped with fried onion,
Beef-flavored veggie pot pie,
Makes good comfort food.
Recipe
Easy homemade single pie crust: 1 cup flour, intermittently pour and stir in ¼ cup oil; continue stirring while adding ¼ cup water until dough clings together. Knead lightly and roll out. (from The Tassajara Bread Book by Edward Espe Brown)
Happy devouring!

Hippity hop,
Hoppity hip,
Cover-it-up
As you visit ‘n see
Friends and family;
Six feet away,
And forego the Easter buffet.

Blue sky,
Mild temp,
6-ft. pole,
Walking responsibly,
Keeping the distance
Between you, me,
And COVID-19.
Another new year,
Gonna give it another try
To get in gear
And simplify
My ways
And days
To live the good life
With little strife.
Examples of good life:

Natural or dressed,
Ready to spread Christmas cheer,
Express it with fir.

Days passed
Since that one night past;
Morning after was hard to bear
Until nothing was left to bare;
Your voice I can still hear,
Though you are far from here;
But I continue to wait,
As I carry the weight,
Knowing you said bye
That I can’t buy.
“I am always by your side,”
I heard you sighed.

Sliding down my cheek,
Fresh tears fall,
First thing in the morning,
My own mourning dew,
As I think of you.

Start of a new day,
Feeling like a stray,
Still mourning after,
No sense of next chapter,
My tomorrow
Scheduled for more sorrow,
Tremendous, glorious,
Hideously piteous
Pain sustained,
Until I’m drained
Of life itself,
Only then will be true farewell.
