“Diminished if insincere” great line and reminds me of when I was in third grade and wore one of my favorite dresses to school. Bonnie, who always picked on me said, “Nice dress!” The words were dripping with sarcasm, and she laughed. I felt 2 inches tall. Happy ending, though… I took her Hershey bar at lunch. She didn’t know where it went and cried. 🙂 I love chocolates and still snicker .
So very true! Insincere compliments amount to diminished returns.

Aww. Kids are natural bullies, but hopefully they learn that as they grow up that it was because of feelings of insecurity.
