Stepping out
As a betty till past midnight;
You don’t know my secret
Because I want you to be tricked.
I search for you house to house,
Don’t hide behind blinds,
Or pull down your shades.
I come for more than treats.
I’m Queen for Halloween;
Bow before my pumpkin crown.
I’m coming to exact a fine
For taking what used to be mine.
I wear a gown that shimmers;
Wait till you see what’s under,
Might even make you shiver,
Though you won’t want to linger.
Now for the big reveal–
I haunt you for what you stole.
You took my breath and killed my soul
I once was alive but now I’m a ghoul.
Happy Halloween, lover!

A ghoul wearing a shimmering gown is nightmare inducing, but kind of cute…right? Come on! I can’t be the only one!…right?

“I haunt you for what you stole.” Great line! Ghouls gone wild. 🙂

I like your line too — Ghouls gone wild. That would be a fun title to use for a piece.
