Years tick by,
Until the simmer
Starts to boil.
Baby gets a gun,
Stunning everyone.
How much more must we watch this rerun?

Years tick by,
Until the simmer
Starts to boil.
Baby gets a gun,
Stunning everyone.
How much more must we watch this rerun?

Take time to spice up,
Thyme can make a difference;
Tasty explosion.

Wait a second,
Got a minute?
Back in an hour,
Give me a day,
Squeeze me in?
I promise not to take too much time,
But if I do . . .
It’s not like I committed a crime.

Their love surprised,
Then suppressed;
They were forced to separate,
Their hearts wept as if to suppurate.
They surrendered,
Resigned to be suspended
In a state of suffering.
But knowing it’s temporary was sufficient
To help them survive
Their severe
Mortal sentence
Because their souls know the silence
Does not mean they are still,
For their love will always be here to stay.

Galen the glutton
Scarfed up everyone’s mutton,
Popped off his button
Caused quite a big squirt;
He won’t be having dessert,
Six feet under dirt.
Superbowl is here,
Good excuse to overeat,
Hard not to indulge.
Some menu delights:
Buffalo wings, on’yun rings,
All kinds of chip dips.
The choices go on:
Local or imported beers.
Antacids later.

Today is hump day.
Though half the week is over,
Still the same routine.
A working stiff’s wail,
Ev’ry day is a hmph day
Except for Friday.

Rose-colored glasses
Filter the mind from chaos;
They keep us going.
What went up quickly, now stays down mostly.

In years past every weekend
Was wearing the latest trend.
Now it’s reading through the daily
To see who’s who in the obituary.
Shopping used to be for the frivolous,
Fun, fabulous, and more,
Now it’s become problematic,
To even find a ride to the store.
Eenie, meenie, minie, moe,
Catch the devil on my toe,
Should we stay, or should we go?
Where I point will be our destiny,
A place for us to spend eternity.
Let me serve you a deliciously deadly meal,
So we can rest together for real.
I’ll put on a red flannel teddy,
After supper, we’ll go to beddie,
And go with the flow and just be ready . . .

Make a difference.
Aim for the sky.
Respect others.
Think big.
Inform yourself always;
No one else can be you.
Love as you want to be loved,
Unify when you can,
Tomorrow may be your last day.
Heaven is what you make of it.
Evangelize only words of hope,
Remove barriers where they oppress.
Kindly
Impart
Noble
Gifts.
Be King for a day and show peace in action.
